Boston Strong

Let me first start out by saying: WOW. Wow for this trip, the events, the people, the reactions, the community, the social media, the memories. This trip was amazing, scary, intense, frustrating, bitter-sweet, and all sorts of other emotions piled into four days; I have never experienced so many emotions in such a short amount of time. Wow. This will be a very detailed post, so you can skip around as you see fit; not everything I say will interest you, I am sure. All the blue links take you to more information, or the article quoted. Boston Bound

Yes! I head to Boston for the CASE Social Media Conference on Tuesday! I am SO EXCITED! I will be sure to tweet as much as I can! Here is your Video Friday :)

Google Fiber. What will it really do?

Facebook Home Overview. There are lots of extended reviews out there, so go watch one if you’re even more interested.

I still think coding is very important. Immersion is definitely the best way to learn…I may do a boot camp….. I also want to learn French through immersion. That’s not in this video.

Well, kiddos, I will not be posting a blog next week because I will be coming home that day. So, I will take lots of pictures and tweet at #casesmc :) Ciao for now.

Fooled me?

Last week was LMU’s Spring Break so we missed a lovely blog post! I’ll make up for it this week, wrapping up the April Fools’ Day pranks that topped my list. Enjoy!

Google dominated AFD with these videos.

Turn on the English captions for this next one.

More after the break! Continue reading

Exhaustion at its finest

Alright guys, here’s the deal: I have run into a huge wall recently. Not literally, but man it sure feels like it. I have prepared a few cool videos for you this Friday, and then I think I am going to go sleep. Seriously. At 4:30, I am going to bed. Haha. Then I will get up and go do some Couch to 5k training (part of my exhaustion, you see), and then continue work on my MBA research paper due on April 3rd (another exhaustion point). So, enjoy the videos, and I will be napping!

This week’s Split Seconds. No SS next week, but we will come back with a special campus update after Spring Break.

For all you people who love Skittles, but hate having different colors touch… here is a device for you. Yes, someone really made this. It’s actually pretty cool.

And, finally, Kid President chose his NCAA D1 Basketball bracket. Who did you choose? I chose Indiana vs Duke in the final. And that’s all I am going to say!

Have a safe, exhaustion-free weekend! Happy Spring Break if you’re on it!

Once upon a time…

… there was a part-time blogger that constantly forgot to post a blog update. Her viewers loved her anyway, and everything was okay in then end. But she was very, very sorry for neglecting the loyal viewers. So she apologized (I’m sooooooooorry), and then wrote a post. Here is that post.

This week’s Split Seconds! Our basketball team is on fy-ya!

The new pope, Francis, was elected this week! He is the first to become pope during the existence of Twitter (founded in 2006, last pope was elected 8 years ago).  Twitter says that about 130,000 tweets per minute were posted about the new pope, a rate it described as “very high” given that it was not a prime-time event. By early Wednesday afternoon, about 2 million tweets had been sent. (Fox 6 Now) Sweet action.

And finally, Facebook is going to start using hash tags, so the world is ruined. Or… more whole? I can’t decide.
